On 31 October 2024, Hospodářské noviny published a detailed report on the long-running legal dispute between the International Arbitration Court in Prague at the Czech-Moravian Commodity Exchange Kladno (PRIAC) and the Court of Arbitration at the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Agrarian Chamber of the Czech Republic (RSHKAK).
“The courts subsequently ruled in favour of PRIAC and of Mr Řezníček and Mr Horáček. In the courts' view, the opposing court had committed unfair competition and acted contrary to good morals. The disseminated statement could have had fatal consequences for competition between the two arbitral courts; certain arbitrators may have favoured remaining with the opposing institution, which provided them with ‘a higher volume of disputed agenda and, hand in hand with it, a higher inflow of resources from which they are remunerated’,” the court concluded.
