The Presidium of PRIAC received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of our esteemed colleague, the distinguished lawyer and arbitrator Prof., Prof. zw., Dr. et Mgr. Ing. (oec), prof. hon. Alexander Bělohlávek, dr. h. c., an internationally recognised authority in arbitration and commercial law.
Professor Bělohlávek was an exceptional figure of the legal community, a respected teacher and the author of dozens of scholarly publications that influenced generations of lawyers around the world. His contribution to legal scholarship and practice, above all in the field of arbitration, will forever remain an example to present and future professionals.
His passing is an irreplaceable loss for the international legal community and for the entire system of international arbitration, whose development he profoundly shaped. His human qualities, deep erudition and dedication to justice will remain inscribed in our hearts.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, loved ones and all colleagues who share this painful loss. The Presidium of PRIAC will continue to honour the memory of Professor Bělohlávek and his invaluable contribution to the world of law.
